Pit Crew Coordinator
Responsibilities:
Maintain an up-to-date roster of all Pit Crew volunteers.
Coordinate and communicate with volunteers to ensure full coverage for each event.
Assign tasks and roles to volunteers for efficient execution of pit crew duties.
Plan and lead the safe and timely movement of percussion and guard equipment on and off the field at home games and competitions.
Work closely with band staff and other coordinators to ensure smooth transitions and support for performances.
Skills:
Excellent organizational and scheduling abilities.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to lead and motivate a group of volunteers.
Problem-solving skills and the capacity to adapt quickly to changing situations during events.
Experience with band equipment or logistics is helpful but not required.
Recommendations:
Develop a clear volunteer sign-up and scheduling system.
Provide training or instructions on safe equipment handling and field protocols.
Encourage a positive team atmosphere to ensure volunteer retention and satisfaction.
Prepare checklists to track equipment movement and volunteer assignments for each event.
Time Commitment: High during marching season and at each event requiring pit crew support.
