Pit Crew Coordinator 

Responsibilities: 

• Maintain an up-to-date roster of all Pit Crew volunteers. 

• Coordinate and communicate with volunteers to ensure full coverage for each event. 

• Assign tasks and roles to volunteers for efficient execution of pit crew duties. 

• Plan and lead the safe and timely movement of percussion and guard equipment on and off the field at home games and competitions. 

• Work closely with band staff and other coordinators to ensure smooth transitions and support for performances. 

Skills: 

• Excellent organizational and scheduling abilities. 

• Strong communication and teamwork skills. 

• Ability to lead and motivate a group of volunteers. 

• Problem-solving skills and the capacity to adapt quickly to changing situations during events. 

• Experience with band equipment or logistics is helpful but not required. 

Recommendations: 

• Develop a clear volunteer sign-up and scheduling system. 

• Provide training or instructions on safe equipment handling and field protocols. 

• Encourage a positive team atmosphere to ensure volunteer retention and satisfaction. 

• Prepare checklists to track equipment movement and volunteer assignments for each event. 

Time Commitment: High during marching season and at each event requiring pit crew support.
